Stirling Street Arts Centre, Bunbury

Today I set off for Bunbury, a 250kms drive south of Perth. I have been invited to teach a one day workshop at the Stirling Street Arts Centre in polymer clay jewellery.
Many of the students had not worked with polymer clay before but were eager to try out the many techniques that I showed them.

New term at TAFE

This year I am teaching two days a week with C Y O’ Connor Institute in textiles. The college has several campus facilities and i am based with the Moora Campus.
On one of the days that I each I travel to Bindoon to a group of nine enthusiastic students. There was a period of time,  that I would not drive through Bindoon as it held so many sad memories.
Most of my students have been participating in Art classes for some time with the talented artist Julie Stitt. They will incorporate both mediums to produce some textile work in the future.

Seal at Yanchep Lagoon Beach

I went to the Lagoon beach for an early morning swim and found a seal having a rest amongst the rocks. He wasn’t bothered by people like myself taking photographs.

Enamel Workshop

Saturday’s workshop was enamelling on metal. We worked on copper pieces with sifting and cloisonné techniques.
Earlier in the week my friend Merryl and I had a play with enamels.

Two Rocks Marine Rescue training day

Today at training we took two boats offshore and were practising towing techniques when a couple of inquisitive dolphins surfaced. It was an amazing sight to see them come so close to the boats.
